Application Instructions

Working with Solutions Home Staffing Agency
We require:

1. A Current Resume that shows your experience applicable to the position.
Email this to: shsagency@gmail.com in a word.doc format

2. Separate list of Professional References
Include: email address, telephone numbers, & notation explaining your relationship.

3. Completion of our online employment application form - via the agency website

All of three of these items must be submitted.

Submit a resume and cover letter that can be forwarded to the client; make it specific to the experience required in the job. For nannies, include work experience, ages of children you have cared for, names of references and employers with phone and email contact info. and any letters of recommendation from references. For House Managers, list specific experience and type of home, property, estate, or situations that you managed in this capacity. List other staff positions, vendors or projects you supervised and your strengths. For other service, care or assistant positions: list relevant references and background on your resume.

Application Process tips:

We get hundreds of application forms from job seekers; your complete application, including all three steps will stand out if your resume is well written, clearly shows your relevant background, and has details about your education and talents. The most common mistakes are: resumes that do not show related experience, references without detailed contact information or references that are outdated or non-professional. Recent, reachable, professional references are very important to your application.

We match candidates to specific jobs and family/client needs. So if you do not hear back from us right away, it means that we do not have a job that fits your needs or background to the clients needs, at this time.

Timing: When we have an opening, we work fast. If you wait more than a couple of days to get all of your information to us, you may have missed our screening window for consideration for a specific opportunity.

Checking on Status: Please do follow-up by a quick email. We get many telephone calls and we prefer email to a phone inquiry about an application or job status.

• Returning Nannies: Email SHS if you have already interviewed with us before and have a particular interest in a new posting, this is a great reminder to us that you are still job hunting and available to interview.

• New Nannies: When you have your initial interview with SHS bring the following items with you: resume, copy of your driver's license and copy of your social security card, copy of CPR or first aid certification (if current) for your file. Promptness for appointments is paramount. If you are late for an interview or cancel the interview without talking to us first (not by email or text) you can be certain that we will not take our relationship further to find you employment. We only want reliable, prompt and serious candidates for our clients.

Please do not phone us to check on your application, you may email us if you have questions or comments pertaining to placement.

Our Referral Process:

1. We first conduct a Solutions Home Staffing agency interview to get you in our referral system. If you have not done so yet, we will call you to make an interview appointment.
2. We match your background, experience, education and schedule needs with a client/family and see that their pay range and work schedule needs are an exact fit.
3. We call your professional references and send an email questionnaire as well to verify past employment. Be proactive and see that all contact methods (email address, work, cell phone numbers) are current.
4. When these are documented and checked, we make the interview appointment with the client for a mutually agreeable time. Allow between 1 - 2 hours for this meeting
5. SHS will give you their address and help to find their home.
6. We will give you feedback after the interview once we have spoken to the client.
7. No direct contact (outside of the interview) by the client or the candidate, is allowed before an offer has been accepted.  This includes all forms of communication: phone, email, or text messaging.
8. We do not allow any work arrangements or trial-run before a formal offer has been made and accepted.  We will arrange more interview times to meet with children and get to know the family well enough to make a decision.  Our placements are guaranteed, so a trial period is included in our agreement with the family.
